Helen is a partner in the firm’s employment group and a member of Fox Williams’ Senior Managers & Certification Regime group which advises financial services clients. Her practice covers the full spectrum of employment law and human resources strategy.  Helen has been qualified as a lawyer for more than 20 years and has worked as partner since 2003 both at Fox Williams and at her previous firm

Helen has particular expertise within the financial and professional services sectors. She focuses largely on strategic matters such as workplace discrimination of a sensitive nature, equal pay, team moves, boardroom disputes and employment cases involving financial services regulatory issues. Helen is also well-versed in dealing with industrial relations issues.

She has extensive experience in the application of TUPE and has advised on a variety of TUPE transfers including business acquisitions, mergers, private and public sector outsourcing

Helen has considerable experience of defending and bringing claims in the employment tribunal including claims for unfair and wrongful dismissal as well as more complex claims of workplace discrimination or equal pay.  As a partner in the team Helen has considerable experience of supervising other more junior lawyers in undertaking this work for employers and employees.  She is also experienced in advocacy and has represented employers and employees in such claims in the Employment Tribunal on many occasions.

Helen leads the Fox Williams team that advises on the employment aspects of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and has worked with a number of organisations on the implications of the GDPR for managing employee data. She was featured in City AM in May 2018 discussing whether companies have underestimated the impact of GDPR and spoke at the GDPR Summit, organised by Henley Business School, on 25 June 2018 in London which discussed employee rights under the GDPR. Helen has also been quoted in The Lawyer on GDPR related issues.

Helen prides herself on having great commitment to excellent client service and finding innovative solutions to employment and human resources issues. She often provides tailored training sessions to meet the needs of her clients.

She is a regular speaker at employment law conferences and frequently writes for leading publications on employment matters.  Helen has been quoted in the Financial Times and Ignites Europe in July 2018.  Helen was named in the Reward 100 for 2017 and in the Reward 300 for 2018 for her expertise in employment law and for being an influential leader in the field. 

Prior to joining Fox Williams, Helen was a partner at a London based Global Top 20 firm.
